The stock speakers are just that, stock. Spending $50 a pair really makes a difference. Of coarse spending more helps more. The lower dash is the same, the difference is the mounting bracket between the speaker and the lower dash. The first set of 5x7's I put in front I just drilled holes for the bolts thru the dash. Later when I put in a black dash I got the "proper" brackets. Either way, put some sound deadening stuff behind them.
