OE: There were several outlet pipes used, including bolting the Intercooler directly to the Turbo compressor as done on the TC and SVO.
Aftermarket: Spearco sells a 90 deg elbow that is used when installing an intercooler (not needed for the SVO or TC intercooler)
Modifications: The early (fin type) pipes have a restriction
in the curve and the long part needs blending from the compressor
end diameter to the throttle body end. Whatever pipe the vehicle
has, inspection is easy and porting is relatively quick.
Note, this part is replaced by most intercooler set ups both OE and aftermarket.
